Work on the examination of the engines from the Boeing Mc Donnell Douglas MD82 operated by West Caribbean Airways has begun. A meeting was held this week in France between the experts appointed by the judges responsible for the judicial investigation into the disaster, the investigators from the BEA, their Venezuelan counterparts from the JIAA and their American counterparts from the NTSB. This meeting enabled a programme to be defined for the work that should take place over the coming weeks.
